I'm not sure what Alexa Chung Does, But She Has Awesome Style

So I know Alexa Chung did have a talk show on MTV but it was canceled because she isn't a pregnant teenager. And then I guess she was a DJ and then Madewell was like design some clothes for us. And she was like "Yah! Okay governor! Cheerio!" Apparently now she is the contributing editor at British Vogue and is the host of 24 Hour Catwalk. But from what I see her main job is to attend parties and look awesome. Her style is 1/4 7 year old girl, 2/3 British tea party, 22% preppy, 4% Oliver Twist, 1% Downton Abbey and the rest is just friggin' awesome. Note it helps if you are 6 feet tall and weigh 100 pounds. Here are some of my favorite Alexa Chung looks:

This may be my favorite. Love the trench with the ruffled blouse and ballet flats.

This is so Edie Sedgewick meets Alexa Chung.

Effortlessly cool

Yah shorts!

Rockin the satchel look and the ballet flats. Perfection.

Stripes and trench. Yes!!

I'm very Excited for all the Shows about B*tches Coming Out!

B*tch is just the new hot word right now. I feel like it has taken on this whole new positive and hilarious spin which is good. I mean just think of "You're a stupid b*tch!" from those hilarious Sassy Gay Friend videos. If you haven't seen those, then your life is just sad. Here are two of my faves:

See bitches are funny! And television executives have realized this as two shows this spring will have bitch in the title. Sorta. First there is GCB which stands for "Good Christian Bitches."The dramedy, based on Kim Gatlin’s novel of the same name, centers on on the life of reformed “mean girl” Amanda (Leslie Bibb), who returns to her hometown of Dallas  after her divorce to find herself fodder for malicious gossip from the women in the Christian community. Apparently Jersey bitches have nothing on Southern ladies. Especially when they come in the form of Kristen Chenoweth. Anyway, it looks like it's gonna be a whole lot of cheerleading and jokes about Jesus and it looks awesome. The Christian groups have already been all up in arms of it which is why it is called GCB.

But a show that managed to hold on to the actual b-word. Don’t Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23  was the original title and then it was changed to Apartment 23 and now it is Don't Trust the B------ In Apartment 23," but we all know what those lines mean so this is a victory. I will say this show looks more appealing to me as it stars Dreama Walker (The Good Wife, Gossip Girl and my sister's friend) and the hilarious Krysten Ritter (She's Out of My League, Confessions of a Shopaholic and Breaking Bad. She could be Zooey Deschanel and Katy Perry's mean and hilarious sister) and my favorite, James Van Der Beek. I don't know what it is but once James Van Der Beek stopped playing whiny Dawson he became so hot. Maybe because he finally got rid of that stupid blond hair or maybe it's because he played such an annoying wimp for so long and you could see his inner asshole was just yearning to come out (remember how good he was in Rules Of Attraction? I'm pretty sure that is what JVB is like in real life.) Or watch him on the short-lived but excellent series Mercy. He played an asshole that was a doctor. Awesome! And get this, he actually plays himself on the show!

Krysten Ritter

Hot James

Here is the deal on the show from The Hollywood Reporter:

"The comedy -- about a naive girl from the Midwest (Dreama Walker) who moves to New York and ends up living with a cunning roommate (Krysten Ritter) whose goal is to toughen her up or force her out of the city -- will use Van Der Beek's character as a way to skewer Hollywood using experiences from his own life and beyond."

Apparently Jimmy got the gig because of his Funny or Die skits in which he just makes fun of his former Dawson persona. "I realized if you tell a joke at a party if it's a self-deprecating joke as opposed to if it's a self-aggrandizing one it's a lot funnier," Van Der Beek told reporters. "Once the residuals money ran out, it became OK to make fun of it!" Van Der Beek said with a laugh. "They've kept me around Hollywood long enough for a second coming. It's a lot more fun to not take myself so seriously." Totally charming right?!

"It's a really cool thing to take somebody in real life and make them a character and heighten it," said series creator Nahnatchka Khan. "There's so much blending of the lines anyway with Twitter and what's happening right now and [determining] what's real, what's fake." I love somebody who is very involved in their own thing, that's where comedy comes from," Khan added, later joking that Dawson's co-star Katie Holmes would guest star "under a black shroud."James has been a global star and it's easy to see him in rarified world and he may not know how to do normal things like go to a dry cleaner. It's fun to poke fun at that." I mean anybody is better than Dawson. Pacey I will take any day. There really needs to  be a Dawson's reunion. Of all the WB casts, I have to say they have done the best or have at least dated the most famous people as a group.  In other Dawson's news, Meredith Monroe who played Andy is now playing a 28 year old's mother on Hart of Dixie. Ummmm what? Who feels old?

But anyway, yah for bitches! So much fun to say!
