Emma Stone has looked awesome this week!

Emma Stone has had a very busy week and has managed to look awesome while doing it. As I predicted Emma Stone (who I have a massive girl crush on in case you couldn't tell) is the girl of the summer. She has a small but hilarious part in Friends With Benefits (John fucking Mayer!) which was way better than No Strings Attached and a love song to the city of New York, and then this Friday we finally have Crazy, Stupid, Love. And then in August we have The Help which I am so excited for I can't even put it into words. Plus the teaser trailer for The Amazing Spider Man was released which also looks amazing.

Despite the 100 degree heat in New York Emma managed to look stunning as she went around the city promoting her new films.
Looking gorgeous in red

Well he always helps to make an outfit look better

Love the green lace with her red hair

I love Olivia Palermo's Style!

Not her attitude so much but her style oh yes. Though you do have to admit her bitchiness made the otherwise really boring City so much better. Plus, it was amazing to watch her not do anything at work and get complimented when she put in literally the least amount of effort in possible. I mean really Joe Zee? You are like a real person. So common decency or compassion she may not have but amazing taste, she absolutely does. Whitney Port even admitted that Olivia was more stylish than her. She mixes preppy with trendy which I love and she is a girl that likes a good necklace so she is okay in my book. Here are some of my favorite Olivia looks!

Gorgeous color!

Necklace and stripes

Love that she loves dressy shorts

Great pattern and necklace

Shorts with tights

Love this flowy top with shorts

You always need a cute beach cover-up

I'm obsessed with Ikat!

Don't worry. I didn't know that was the name of the print that is sort of Last of the Mohicans meets Gossip Girl. Anyway, in case you were wondering Ikat is defined as  "the method of weaving that uses a resist dyeing process similar to tie-dye on either the warp or weft fibres," according to this great site called Wikipedia. Ikat is an Indonesian language word, which depending on context, can be the nounscordthreadknot and the finished ikatfabric as well as the verbs "to tie" or "to bind".  It also means super cute and fun! No, not really. I just added that last part. I wonder if the people that were sporting Ikat prints back in several pre-Colombian and South American cultures knew that it would be so trendy this summer?
I love this chair!

Anyway, Ikat is popping up all over the place. I just got a great pair of shorts from J.Crew (above) that are literally my weekend summer outfit. Now I just need the matching dress, scarf and purse. Here are some other great Ikat looks.
Kristen Bell in a gorgeous Ikat dress
My style icon Rachel Bilson rocking a skirt
I usually hate what Vanessa wears on Gossip Girl but I love these shorts though they are not helping to convince me that she is the "poor one from Brooklyn".
Love these shoes by Oscar de la Renta and so does Jessica Biel.

The girl in the yellow dress

I am obsessed with the color yellow, especially for dresses but I have never been able to find a great yellow dress for me. With this special color you have to be very careful but if you do it right you can totally steal the show. In fact, in the musical Contact there is an entire segment of the play constructed around "the girl in the yellow dress." Basically, her dress prompted everyone to dance to "Simply Irresistible" in perfect choreography. If I ever get a great yellow dress I plan on doing the same dance. But here are some of my  most favorite yellow dresses.
Well she can wear anything but Angelina traditionally sticks to black so this was a change for her.

This is actually a Gossip Girl outfit from Season 1 and it is amazing. Tiered and yellow. Incredible.

These are both a little busy for me with the black but it shows how you can make yellow more edgy.

The LYD. How has she popped out three babies?

This is one of my favorite Oscar dresses of all time. Even though she weighs five pounds and is really shiny Renee's 50s-era Jean Desses dress is amazing.

Classic Jessica.

Loe this. Very retro and I love the statement necklace.

I adored Kate's dress in How to Lose a Guy  in 10 Days.

Kate loves yellow in real life too.

Gorgeous.

I love it when New York City is empty

Also, happy Fourth of July! But I do love it when the city is just completely empty (and it does remind me of that amazing and iconic opening scene in Breakfast at Tiffany's. I really should have done that this weekend). You could have literally sat right down in the middle of Madison Avenue this weekend and not gotten hit by a car for like 10 minutes. I really don't recommend this though unless you are with Ryan Gosling's character in The Notebook. Wow, that hasn't been on cable in like a month. That may be a record.

Anyway when the city is this quiet it is just great to walk around. It feels like I own the island. I mean I was able to walk into Starbucks on Lexington Avenue and get my drink within less than 3 minutes. That may be a record.

On these holiday weekends the city reminds me of one of my favorite movies, Everyone Says I Love You. The movie is about a rich, New York family that spontaneously burst into songs by Gershwin. There is a scene where a 13-year-old Natalie Portman and 15-year-old Gabby Hoffman (what happened to her?) come back from The Hamptons to see a show and talk about how empty the city is with the cute boy they both have a crush on. Of course, any empty city also reminds of I Am Legend which scared the crap out of me and makes me really sad everytime I see a German Shepherd.
Natalie and Gabby in Everyone Says I Love You. I wore this uniform too!
