Anne Hathaway is starting to enter Gwyneth Paltrow territory with her insistence to always be playing a Brit. However this film, One Day, looks quite good. The film is based on the book of the same name by David Nicholls. It centers on college students Emma (Anne) and Dexter (Jim Sturgess looking cuter than ever) who have just graduated and just slept together. I am only a chapter into the book (but I really like it and recommend it) so I can't tell you the exact plot but as the trailer explains basically they decide to remain friends and meet one day every year for the rest of their lives or the next 20 years. I don't know why they can only meet for one day because they appear to both be living in England but it makes for better drama because then they can never really be together.
Emma becomes a waitress, he becomes a game show host, she becomes a teacher, he becomes an alcoholic, she gets better looking (they start her off very frumpy), he gets married, she gets a boyfriend, he has a baby, she gets a haircut, he gets divorced, she gets another haircut and then he ends up with really gray hair (and still looks really hot). There is some other stuff that happens I am sure but that is the the main gist. Anyway, it looks like a great summer romance.
